Biography

Born and raised in Chile, La Jesu grew up surrounded by the poetry and rhythms of Latin Music. Moving to the United States as a teenager opened the doors to a whole new world of language and music. Drawing inspiration from both her heritage and her new home, she has embarked on a unique musical journey that transcends borders.

Her music weaves together elements of Latin music, pop, roots, and Americana. Influenced by Latin artists like Kany García, Camilo and Shakira, as well as English-speaking artists such as Brandi Carlile, Noah Kahan and Ed Sheeran, she crafts innovative songs that speak to the heart and soul of a diverse audience.

As a queer woman and an immigrant navigating the intersection of two distinct cultures, La Jesu has often found herself in the spaces between. Refusing to conform to the crowd, she embraces her individuality while acknowledging the universal need for connection. Through her work, she seeks to highlight the shared human experiences that unite us all, breaking down barriers and fostering a sense of unity and inclusivity.

With her music, La Jesu aims to create a platform that represents those who grapple with identity and belonging.
